Balt's Flying was quick to begin.
Deltora Quest, Why Delila and Bitter Twist collided on the first turn checking Deltora Quest and Lex's Delight and causing Why Delila to fall. Island Chief and Balt's Flying collided on the home turn. Island Chief and Lex's Delight raced wide in the home straight.
Why Delila underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hind toe and a left hamstrings injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
