Collaboration and Gotham Duchess was slow to begin.
Make A Pat, Bett's Blues and Classy Stringer collided approaching the 250m mark. Collaboration and Gotham Duchess collided approaching the 200m mark. Bett's Blues and Make A Pat collided at the 200m mark. Gotham Duchess veered in and marred Collaboration collided approaching the 150m mark. Bett's Blues checked off Make A Pat at the 100m mark. Gotham Duchess and Scaramouche collided approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr Thomas Boehmke, the trainer of Gotham Duchess regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the 150m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Gotham Duchess was charged with marring. Mr Boehmke pleaded guilty to the charge, Gotham Duchess was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted. Mr Boehmke declined a post-race veterinary examination for Gotham Duchess.
