Steward's Report
Luna Town was slow to begin.
Luna Town and Louie Zeus collided approaching the first turn. Jupiter Town and Ethan's Thunder collided on the first turn, checking Jupiter Town. Luna Town and Louie Zeus collided on the first turn. President, Jupiter Town and Mars Town collided approaching the home turn. President checked off Ethan's Thunder on the home turn. Ethan's Thunder raced greenly on the home turn. Luna Town and Mars Town collided several times in the home straight. Jupiter Town, Louie Zeus, Mars Town and President raced wide in the home straight. Mars Town marred President approaching the winning post.
Mars Town underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr. Brad Keel regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Mars Town was charged with marring. Mr. Keel pleaded not guilty to the charge, Mars Town was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat only and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race blood sample was taken from Quinlan Bale - the winner of the event.
