Steward's Report
Affair Bit was slow to begin.
Sunnyside Pride and Zing On collided soon after the start. Zing On and Affair Bit collided on the first turn. Annie Rose and George's Fancy collided on the second turn checking George's Fancy. Big Opal Rocks visibly eased entering the back straight.
Big Opal Rocks underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 12. Big Opal Rocks was found to have an abrasion to the left hind metatarsal, a 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. Mario Briganti regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Big Opal Rocks was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Briganti pleaded not guilty to the charge, Big Opal Rocks was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Sunnyside Pride underwent a post-race veterinary examination due to a fall in the catching pen and was found a left triangle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
