All persons attending today undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, checked in, observed social distance requirements, and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government's mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.

Levitation was quick to begin.  Zambora Charlie was slow to begin.

Zipping James and Esava collided soon after the start checking Esava.  Alpine Butterfly, Flight Rosk, Plagiarise and Lady Zeeva collided in the front straight checking Alpine Butterfly.  Zambora Charlie and Esava collided approaching the first turn.  Zipping James, Flight Risk and Plagiarise collided approaching the first turn severely checking Plagiarise.  Zambora Charlie and Esava collided on the first turn.  Alpine Butterfly marred Esava several times from approaching the home turn to approaching the winning post.

Plagiarise underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Alpine Butterfly underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right shoulder injury.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr Des Douch regarding the greyhound’s racing manners from approaching the home turn to approaching the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Alpine Butterfly was charged with marring.  Mr. Douch pleaded guilty to the charge, Alpine Butterfly is suspended for 28 days at Sandown only and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
