Steward's Report
Joyous Venture – Late scratching at 18:27 on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a left hock injury and split nail left fore paw. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Sparkle Debacle was slow to begin.
Our Flying Bolt checked off Cha Cha Again approaching the first turn. Cha Cha Again checked off Totally Know on the first turn. Queen Harriet checked off White Surprise entering the home straight. Sparkle Debacle and Queen Harriet collided in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to trainer Mr John Buckley regarding the scratching of Sweet Harriet, as the scratching has afforded a start to another greyhound trained by Mr Buckley (Queen Harriett). Mr Buckley explained that when checking Sweet Harriet in the morning it was showing soreness in it's left wrist and therefore he has scratched the greyhound. Mr Buckley explained that the greyhound would likely take 10 days to recover from its injury. Stewards noted his explanation.
