Strategic was quick to begin. Fashion Icon checked off Kraken Thunder soon after the start. Chasing Lomar faltered in the back straight and lost ground. Whispy Watson checked off Strategic on the first turn checking Not Delivered. Strategic raced wide in the home straight.

Chasing Lomar underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right wrist injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
