Steward's Report
Dr. Esther – The frequency of racing of was discussed with representative Ms Judith McMahon, the comments were noted.
Xavier was slow to begin.
Dr. Esther - Frequency of racing,underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Bit Shakey - Contacted the running rail in the 1st turn,underwent a post–race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Flywheel Bandit, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have spike wound to the left hindleg. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Samuel Bye, the trainer of Flywheel Bandit regarding its performance in the 1st turn. After hearing submissions from Mr. Bye, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, the Stewards deemed the performance of Flywheel Bandit unsatisfactory. Flywheel Bandit must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Mr. Specter, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury and a right triangle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Lindsay Fulford, the trainer of Mr. Specter regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Mr. Specter was charged with marring. Mr Fulford pleaded guilty to the charge, Mr. Specter was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
