Steward's Report
Kaniva Swifty was quick to begin. Smiling Teal was slow to begin.
Smiling Teal underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Stewards spoke to Mrs. Andrea Dailly regarding the racing manners of Smiling Teal in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Smiling Teal was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs. Dailly pleaded guilty to the charge and Smiling Teal was suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Kaniva Swifty - the winner of the event.
