Steward's Report
Sinatra Bay, Bush Nightmare and Lightning Loki were slow to begin.
Lightning Loki underwent a post–race veterinary and was re–examined following race five. Lightning Loki was found to have a right foreleg dorsi/trapezius muscle injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Brian Weis regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Lightning Loki was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Weis pleaded guilty to the charge, Lightning Loki was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125 and GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Reiko Mini underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have left foreleg wrist and monkey muscle injuries. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Deborah Coleman, the trainer of Reiko Mini regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 126 Reiko Mini was charged with marring. Ms Coleman pleaded not guilty to the charge, Reiko Mini was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 126 and GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
