Steward's Report
All staff & participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the kennel block and associated buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of boxing, starting and catching greyhounds.
The Stewards discussed the frequency of racing of Tizza Fernando with trainer, Mr David Schwarz and noted their comments.
Aston Gal was quick to begin. Sonic Rainboom, Havoc's Legacy and Line Stepper collided soon after the start. Brindle Goat and Aston Gal collided at the 150m mark. Brindle Goat turned it's head inwards and visibly eased approaching the winning post. Tizza Fernando and Sonic Rainboom collided at the winning post.
Brindle Goat underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left fore shin soreness. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. M. Ferguson regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Brindle Goat was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Ferguson pleaded guilty to the charge, Brindle Goat was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Tizza Fernando underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
