Steward's Report

Aztec Blaze underwent a veterinary examination at the trainer's request prior to racing and was passed fit to race.

Cawbourne Gout, Keenan Rocks and Hot Sauce Sally were slow to begin.

Shen Bree Girl and Lawson Drive collided on the first turn.  Alpine Blaze and Hot Sauce Sally collided on the first turn, checking Hot Sauce Sally.  Aztec Blaze visably eased on the second turn.  Aztec Blaze and Cawbourne Gout collided on the third turn, checking Aztec Blaze.  Keenan Rocks checked off Lawson Drive on the third turn; checking Hot Sauce Sally.  All To Mac raced wide in the home straight.

Aztec Blaze underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg triangle injury.  A five day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Darren Irby, the trainer of Aztec Blaze regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the second turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Aztec Blaze was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr Irby pleaded not guilty to the charge, Aztec Blaze was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
