Steward's Report

The traditional 2-wave (odds then evens) boxing process has been re-instated for all races in Victoria from Tuesday 10 November 2020. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times. 

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Sloth and Little Bertha were slow to begin.

Veracruz, Chuck Attack and My Name's Lindy collided soon after the start checking Chuck Attack and My Name's Lindy. Lektra Little, Palmistry and Market Chick collided on the first turn. Veracruz, Sloth, Palmistry and Little Bertha collided approaching the home turn checking Veracruz, Sloth and Little Bertha and severely checking Palmistry. My Name's Lindy and Little Bertha collided on the home turn. Lektra Little and Market Chick collided on the home turn. My Name's Lindy and Little Bertha collided entering the home straight checking My Name's Lindy and severely checking Little Bertha which pulled up as a result.

Little Bertha underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 4. Little Bertha was found to have a right back muscle injury and bruising over the left achilles tendon and hind limb. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

A post-race sample was taken from Veracruz - winner of the event.
