Steward's Report
All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face masks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Lure Driver, Mr B.Rogers did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way, affected the outcome of this event.
Eadie, Rev Up Poppy and Three Kisses collided approaching the first turn checking Three Kisses. Eadie and Rev Up Poppy collided approaching the first turn checking Rev Up Poppy. Ertugrul Bey, Rattling Rosie and Clase Azul collided on the first turn severely checking Clase Azul and Rattling Rosie, causing Rattling Rosie to fall and lose it's muzzle. Ertugrul Bey and Halo's Drive collided approaching the home turn. Eadie and Fatboy Jonny collided on the home turn. Ertugrul Bey visibily eased entering the home straight and collided with Rev Up Poppy checking both greyhounds and race wide. Ertugrul Bey and Three Kisses collided approaching the winning post.
Ertugrul Bey underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted following race 3. Ertugral Bey was found to have a right triangle injury and a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. John Caulfield regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Ertugul Bey was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Caulfield pleaded guilty to the charge, was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Rattling Rosie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right quadriceps injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Adrian Symons regarding the racing manners of Three Kisses entering the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mr. Symons, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight.
