Steward's Report
Keira Spolly was slow to begin. Keira Spolly stumbled soon after the start and collided with Vesna Spolly. Above The Limit and Vesna Spolly collided on the first turn. Bowler’s Name visibly eased and turned its head outwards on the first turn and collided with Sorell. Bowler’s Name and Dr. Francisco collided approaching the home turn, on the home turn and again entering the home straight.
Bowler’s Name underwent a post race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 5. Bowler’s Name was found to have an injured toe on the right hind foot. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. C. Langley regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Bowler’s Name was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Langley pleaded guilty to the charge, Bowler’s Name was found guilty and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
