All staff and participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the Kennel Block and Associated Buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of handling, boxing, starting and catching greyhounds.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 23.3 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.0 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Whispy Watson – Late scratching at 7.41am when trainer Mr D. Faulknall reported the greyhound to have kennel cough (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Secret Agent Man contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground.

Secret Agent Man underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Arcanine was quick to begin.  Spirit Energy, She's Something and Dorellie Love were slow to begin.

Spirit Energy and Fabriola Acai collided in the front straight.  Fabriola Acai and His Stop It collided on the third turn checking Fabriola Acai.  She's Something and Dorellie Love collided on the third turn checking Dorellie Love.

Polly's Yohanna checked off David Coin soon after the start.  Dyna Virion and Punk Lass Rocks collided on the first turn checking Dyna Virion.  Punk Lass Rocks and Polly's Yohanna collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  

Aston Bullet – Late scratching at 7.24am when trainer Mr R. Britton reported the greyhound to have a virus (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Fairytale Nacho – Late scratching at 7.42am when trainer Mr D. Faulknall reported the greyhound to have kennel cough (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Prior to the running of this event the outside temperature was 28.6 degrees and the kennel temperature 18.0 degrees.

Livvy's Princess and Mepunga Reject collided soon after the start.  Walk Me Home, Livvy's Princess, Mepunga Reject and Riccarton Rick collided in the front straight checking all four greyhounds.  Walk Me Home, Riccarton Rick and Dewana Success collided approaching the first turn checking all three greyhounds.  Livvy's Princess and Mepunga Reject collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Livvy's Princess checked off Dewana Success on the second turn.  Walk Me Home and Mepunga Reject collided on the third turn checking Mepunga Reject.  

All Inn Dungee and Major Sacrifice collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Tysons Town, Roll Your Eyes and Custom Roof collided in the front straight checking Roll Your Eyes and Custom Roof.  Lakeview Cruiser and Reverse Outright collided approaching the first turn checking Lakeview Cruiser, Reverse Outright and Tysons Town.  Custom Roof and Major Sacrifice collided approaching the first turn severely checking Custom Roof and Major Sacrifice.  Roll Your Eyes, Lakeview Cruiser and All Inn Morgan collided on the first turn checking Lakeview Cruiser and All Inn Morgan.  Lakeview Cruiser checked off All Inn Morgan on the second turn.  Lakeview Cruiser and Tysons Town collided on the home turn.  Reverse Outright lost ground over the concluding stages of the event.  

Custom Roof underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
