Steward's Report
The Stewards discussed the frequency of racing for Vanna Bale with kennel representative Mr C.Grenfell and noted their comments.
Quid Pro Quo was slow to begin. Flying Brae and Maddox Bale collided soon after the start. Flying Brae and Vanna Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Vanna Bale. Firing Fernando and Maddox Bale collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Maddox Bale which fell. Tin Can Sam eased in the home straight. Flying Brae and Travelling Sands collided approaching the winning post.
Maddox Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left thigh injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Tin Can Sam underwent a post-race veterinary examination and re-vetted following race 7. Tin Can Sam was found to have injuries to the right wrist and right quadraceps, a 10day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Representative Mr. G. Gledhill, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Tin Can Sam was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Gledhill pleaded guilty to the charge, Tin Can Sam must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
