Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Race 4 - Pirate Pete - Late scratching at 10:29 due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr D Green was fined $100.

Race 9 - Joking Bear - Late scratching at 10:32am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr G. Hammerstein was fined $100.

Race 10 - Got Girl - Late scratching at 10:16am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr T. Proctor was fined $100.

Following several inspections of the racing surface after concerns were held upon the initial track inspection being conducted earlier in the day, the Stewards officially abandoned the race-meeting at 11.19am due to the surface being deemed unsuitable for racing. It was advised that persistent and heavy overnight rain at Healesville had caused a compacting and firming effect to the surface and further downpours during kennelling only compounded the issue at hand, which could not be remediated.

In accordance with GAR 38(12), all greyhounds that failed to fulfill their engagement after the close of kennelling, the weight recorded is void and is not to be used or considered as the reference point for the greyhounds next engagement for the purposes of establishing the eligibility to race under the provisions of GAR 39 (the weight rule).
