Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Worms Are Biting, a post-race sample was subsequently taken. 

Aston Helena was very slow to begin (4L).

Cruising Four and Electric Dreams collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn; checking Electric Dreams and Worms Are Biting.  Worms Are Biting checked off Electric Dreams on the first turn, checking Amelie Otis.  Worms Are Biting and Amelie Otis collided approaching the home turn, checking Worms Are Biting.  Cruising Four and Electric Dreams collided on the home turn.  Aston Helena checked off Knight Caller on the home turn.  Knight Caller, Another Pick, Cruising Four and Electric Dreams collided entering the home straight; checking Knight Caller, Another Pick, Cruising Four, Electric Dreams and Aston Helena.  Knight Caller visably eased in the home straight.  Cruising Four marred Electric Dreams in the home straight, checking Electric Dreams.

Cruising Four underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.  Stewards spoke to Mr J Caulfield, the trainer of Cruising Four regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Cruising Four was charged with marring.  Mr Caulfield pleaded not guilty to the charge, Cruising Four was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Horsham and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Knight Caller underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race four.  Knight Caller was found to have a left hindleg pencil/whip injury.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr G George regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Knight Caller was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr George pleaded guilty to the charge, Knight Caller must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
