A pre-race sample was taken from Bold.
Bold was very slow to begin (4L).
Mepunga Spectre, My Victoria and Limburg Patrick collided soon after the start checking My Victoria and Limburg Patrick.
Bold visibly eased and pulled up approaching the first turn. Speedy Ryder and Another Bling collided approaching the home turn. Limburg Patrick and Another Bling collided in the home straight.
Bold underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr T Vantaarling the representative of Bold regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Bold was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Vantaarling pleaded guilty to the charge, Bold is suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
