Blackjack Cruise and Kurri Kurri were slow to begin.
Blackjack Cruise checked off Speedy Ryder on the first turn. Speedy Ryder checked off Big Dance on the first turn, also checking Blackjack Cruise, Kurri Kurri and Maramba and causing Adori to fall. Speedy Ryder and Kurri Kurri collided approaching the home turn. Maramba checked off Blackjack Cruise in the home straight.
Adori underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left wrist injury, left deltoid muscle injury and a right thigh muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
