Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 37.7 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19.0 degrees.
Ava's Choice and Aston Mekong were quick to begin. Lara Diamond and Texan Galore were slow to begin.
Town Tamer and Lightning Roger collided soon after the start. Lara Diamond galloped on the heels of Lightning Roger approaching the first turn. Texan Galore checked off the heels of Lightning Roger on the first turn. Lightning Roger raced wide on the home turn.
Lightning Roger underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Ms H Hartigan, the trainer of Lightning Roger and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn.
