Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Psycho Star.
Mepunga Harry and Spring Value were slow to begin.
Ishmy Barry, Psycho Star, Little Tubbsy and Spring Value collided on the first turn, checking Ishmy Barry and Little Tubbsy. Psycho Star checked off Spring Value approaching the home turn. Spring Value marred Mepunga Harry in the home straight, checking Mepunga Harry. Spring Value and Psycho Star collided approaching the winning post.
Spring Value underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the right foreleg. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Kevin Mugavin, the trainer of Spring Value regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Spring Value was charged with marring. Mr Mugavin pleaded not guilty to the charge, Spring Value was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Winlock Dyno - the winner of the event.
