Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff, at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Just A Fidget, Hazy's Girl and Armani Arby collided approaching the first turn. Dr. Tobain, Amuri Gold and Tinker China collided on the first turn checking Dr. Tobain. Kraken Tyson galloped on the heels of Dr. Tobain on the first turn. Tylden and Armani Arby collided approaching the home turn. Dr. Tobain and Kraken Tyson collided on the home turn. Armani Arby raced wide in the home straight.

Read Alot and Gifted One collided soon after the start. Miss Immy and Read Alot collided approaching the first turn checking Read Alot. Viking Clap and Liverpool Flyer collided approaching the first turn. Miss Immy and Gifted One collided on the first turn. Our Flying Bolt and Miss Immy collided approaching the home turn. Gifted One raced wide in the home straight.

Tuesday's Gone was quick to begin. Speaking Spanish contacted the running rail approaching the first turn and lost ground. Motor Ace and Zeal The Moment collided approaching the first turn checking Motor Ace. Zeal The Moment, Spring Haze and My Name's Darren collided on the first turn. Motor Ace and Wicked One collided on the first turn. Motor Ace, Wicked One and Speaking Spanish collided approaching the home turn checking Wicked One. Speaking Spanish lost ground in the home straight.

Speaking Spanish underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted following race 5. Speaking Spanish sustained an injury to the right stopper. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Special Victim was quick to begin. Wicked Blast was slow to begin. Dukey Duke and Low Planes collided soon after the start checking Dukey Duke. Dukey Duke and Lights Action collided approaching the first turn checking Dukey Duke. Elsa Rose and Low Planes collided approaching the first turn checking Low Planes. Dukey Duke and Wicked Blast collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Cosmic Kate and Red Gate collided soon after the start. Stacey Bott, Cosmic Kate and Red Gate collided on the first turn. Serengeti Icon and Red Gate collided approaching the second turn checking Serengeti Icon. Stacey Bott and Cosmic Kate collided approaching the home turn checking Stacey Bott. Serengeti Icon and Oddjob Lad collided entering the home straight.

Solar Charge and Elegant Malt collided soon after the start. Grudge and Dewana Be Sure collided approaching the first turn checking Grudge. Grudge and Select Pattern collided approaching the home turn.

Dove's Cry was slow to begin. Kraken Bam Bam, So Say and Winlock Dyno collided approaching the first turn checking So Say. Dove's Cry, Kraken Bam Bam and Chiseller collided approaching the first turn. Kraken Bam Bam and Dove's Cry collided on the first turn checking Kraken Bam Bam.

Nera Enough and Gettysburg were slow to begin. Nera Enough and Aston Verve collided approaching the first turn.

The Stewards declared this event a “No Race” in accordance with GAR 56 (1) due to ducks crossing the path of the oncoming greyhounds in the home straight, which in turn caused several greyhounds to baulk, which in turn effected the natural finishing positions and order of the placings.

Due to this race being the second leg of a two (2) race series, the Stewards turned their mind to the provisions of GAR 57 (2) and whether or not any greyhounds would have qualified to participate further in the series and be exempt from the ballot. The Stewards formed the opinion that (4) Whisky Hans, (3) Easy Choice, (5) Volcanic Lava & (2) Jimmy Turbo would have all qualified to participate further in the series and were exempt from the ballot. These four greyhounds will proceed to the final next week without entering the ballot.

The remaining greyhounds were balloted in accordance with the rules. The ballot was conducted in accordance with GRV Stewards Standard Operating Procedures.  My Name's Wally (8) was the next greyhound balloted and is allocated 5th position. As times are not a factor under the rules, My Name's Wally becomes the second reserve (position 10) for the final. For the record, Kraken Jane Babe (1) was the next greyhound balloted and the last position balloted was Scissor King (7).

The prizemoney will be distributed equally amongst the greyhounds who competed in the race. Betting will be subject to refunds. Weights recorded for the greyhounds are void and will not be used for future events.

Untold Soldier was quick to begin. Kraken Champ and Fletcher Jay collided soon after the start checking Fletcher Jay. Kraken Champ, Tickle My Fancy, Major Winston and Tinker Town collided on the first turn checking Major Winston. Kraken Champ, Tickle My Fancy and Tinker Town collided approaching the home turn. What Price, Fletcher Jat and Tinker Town raced wide in the home straight.

Fletcher Jay underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to both triangles. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Brylee, Winsome Fernando, Space Alert and All Inn Abby collided approaching the first turn checking All Inn Abby. Piriformis, All Inn Abby, Go Pies, Crackerjack Soc and Sweet Daisy collided on the first turn checking Go Pies, All Inn Abby and Crackerjack Soc. Piriformis clipped the heels of Space Alert on the home turn. Priformis and Go Pies collided approaching the winning post.
