In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 33.1 degrees and the kennel temperature was 16.7 degrees. 

Athena's Warrior, Kurtis Pandora and Lektra Rebel were slow to begin. 

Invictus Coco and Flaming Express collided approaching the first turn, checking Flaming Express. Athena's Warrior and Kurtis Pandora collided on the first turn, checking Kurtis Pandora. Flaming Express and Athena's Warrior collided approaching the home turn, checking Flaming Express. Lektra Rebel checked off Work Zone in the home straight. 

Blackfish Fozz was slow to begin. Golden Charm was very slow to begin (3 Lengths).

Levi and Rodney Rocket collided approaching the first turn. Al's Vixen and Blackfish Fozz collided on the first turn, checking Al's Vixen which contacted the running rail. Blackfish Fozz checked off Levi on the first turn. Blackfish Fozz and Rodney Rocket collided approaching the home turn, checking Rodney Rocket. Al's Vixen clipped the heels of Blackfish Fozz entering the home straight. Golden Charm raced wide entering the home straight.

Akoya underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr H. Goss, the handler of Akoya and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.

A post-race sample was taken from Levi - the winner of the event. 

Daytona Icon was slow to begin. 

Smokey Renn, Weslyn Bale and Precisely collided on the first turn. Omar Little galloped on Precisely on the first turn, checking Precisely and Daytona Icon and causing Omar Little to fall. 

Omar Little underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right monkey muscle, right quadriceps muscle and bruising on the left hind tibia. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Abby's Star was quick to begin. Magic Ozzie, Zagreb and Cawbourne Gout were slow to begin. 

Mouthy Boof and Maximum Jodie collided approaching the first turn, checking Mouthy Boof. Magic Ozzie clipped the heels of Zagreb on the first turn.

Glory Fire, Olson Bale and Kraken Pat collided soon after the start, checking Olson Bale. Smart Knocka, Quest Allen, Glory Fire and Kraken Pat collided approaching the first turn, checking Quest Allen, Glory Fire and Kraken Pat. Lektra Desire, Lektra Lyrebird and Van Evie were quick to begin. 

Hatters Lane clipped the heels of Modern Icon soon after the start. Modern Icon and Ravenous Rex collided approaching the first turn, checking Ravenous Rex. Modern icon, Hatters Lane and Ravenous Rex collided on the first, checking Hatters Lane and Ravenous Rex. Van Evie checked off Lektra Lyrebird on the first turn, checking Modern Icon and Hatters Lane. Hatters Lane raced wide approaching the home turn, checking Modern Icon and Ravenous Rex. Van Evie turned its head outwards entering the home straight towards Lektra Lyrebird and failed to pursue the lure with due commitment. Van Evie and Lektra Lyrebird collided several times in the home straight. 

Van Evie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 9 - no apparent injury was reported. 

Stewards spoke to Mr Harrison Goss, the representative for Van Evie regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Van Evie was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Goss pleaded guilty to the charge, Van Evie is suspended for 28 days at Horsham and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Amigo Two was quick to begin. 

I'm Easy Boys and Sky Wesley collided soon after the start. Sky Wesley galloped on Giggling Gerty on the first turn, checking Sky Wesley and Still Single. I'm Easy Boys and Amigo Two collided entering the home straight. 

Cloona Reward was quick to begin. 

Nitro Value, Eaglehawk Miss, Mr. Frost and Jar Man collided soon after the start, checking Nitro Value, Eaglehawk Miss and Mr. Frost. Nitro Value and Eaglehawk Miss collided on the first turn, checking Nitro Value. Cee Me Ignite and Mr. Frost raced wide approaching the home turn. Mr. Frost failed to pursue to lure with due commitment on the home turn and collided with Cee Me Ignite, checking Cee Me Ignite. Cloona Reward visibly eased approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Ms Melissa Fullerton the handler of Mr. Frost regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Mr. Frost was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Fullerton pleaded guilty to the charge, Mr. Frost is suspended for 28 days at Horsham and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Cloona Reward underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a minor injury to the right triangle muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Kevin Mugavin regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Cloona Reward was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Mugavin pleaded not guilty to the charge, Cloona Reward was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Fast Trapper.

Boston Flame was quick to begin. Fast Trapper turned in the boxes and took no competitive part in the event. 

Boston Flame and Found In Quartz collided on the first turn, checking Boston Flame. Gallant Toby checked off Poor Old Frank approaching the home turn, checking Great Success. 

Fast Trapper - Turned in the boxes and took no competitive part in the race. Placed on a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 52(1).

Fast Trapper underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Kentucky Sun was quick to begin. 

Savannah Icon checked off Mr. Worldwide soon after the start. Buddy Goes Bang and Steorra collided on the first turn, checking Buddy Goes Bang, Steorra and Savannah Icon. Rod Vader and Savannah Icon collided approaching the home turn, checking Rod Vader. Steorra galloped on the heels of Mr. Worldwide on the home turn. Mr.Worldwide and Buddy Goes Bang collided in the home straight checking Mr.Worldwide.

Blue Vegas was quick to begin. Striking Gold was slow to begin. 

Super Fay, Saint Ray, Solar Mocha and Dee Nine collided on the first turn, checking Super Fay and Solar Mocha.

Solar Mocha underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Dee Nine underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Jennifer Fullerton and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.

MEETING COMMENTS:

In accordance with GAR 73, Night Glow was presented for vetting at the conclusion of kennelling as the greyhound had been removed from Ballarat on 16.10.2019 without being vetted following a race fall. Night Glow was examined by the on-track veterinarian and found to be free from injury. Night Glow was Cleared to race.
