Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Stormy Blue.
Greatest Showman was quick to begin. Spot On Mick went up with the lids at box rise.
Big Little Sis and true Survivor collided on the first turn. Spot On Mick and Big Little Sis collided approaching the second turn. Leprechaun Tink and Limburg Nemesis collided in the back straight. Stormy Blue, Leprechaun Tink, Limburg Nemesis and My Boy Winlock collided on the third turn checking all greyhounds. Big Little Sis visibly eased approaching the home turn and collided with Spot On Mick. Big Little Sis marred Spot On Mick on the home turn and again in the home straight.
Big Little Sis underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right hip muscle and right hamstring. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr K. Howat the trainer, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Big Little Sis was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Howat pleaded guilty to the charge, Big Little Sis must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
