Steward's Report

A sample was taken from Dewana Degoey upon arrival at the course.

Step Up Maggie and Tahbilk were slow to begin. 

Dewana Degoey and Screen Shot collided soon after the start. Dewana De Goey, Screen Shot, Cornhill Tiger and Starry's Lad collided approaching the first turn checking Screen Shot and Cornhill Tiger. Screen Shot and Starry's Lad collided in the back straight. Tahbilk and Starry's Lad collided entering the home straight checking Starry's Lad.

Step Up Maggie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a injuries to the right triangle muscle spike wound to the right hind paw. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A post-race sample was taken from Van Nindi - the winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Coleman, regarding his failure to appear in the catching pen to retrieve the greyhound, Dewana Degoey. Mr Coleman was charged pursuant to GAR 86(o), in that he negligently failed to fulfil his catching engagement for Race 4. Mr Coleman pleaded guilty, was found guilty, and fined $50.
