Steward's Report
Hollywood Donuts and Manila Mist were slow to begin.
Speaking Spanish and Barunga Bullet collided soon after the start. Dyna Joanie and Speaking Spanish collided soon after the start checking Dyna Joanie. Barunga Bullet and Table Top collided on the first turn checking Vampire Vixen and Barunga Bullet. Speaking Spanish visibly eased in the home straight checking Table Top and Speaking Spainish tailed off as a result.
Speaking Spanish underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 9. The greyhound was found to have injuries to the right hind sesamoid, hock and triangle. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr.D. Boots, the representitive of Speaking Spanish regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Speaking Spanish was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Boots reserved his plea to the charge, Speaking Spanish is suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
