Rock Me Lloyd and Shamrock Boy collided soon after the start checking Shamrock Boy.  Rock Me Lloyd checked off Urana Hope approaching the first turn.  Kip Your Star, Urana Hope and Lady Gotham collided on the first turn checking Kip Your Star, Urana Hope, Shamrock Boy and Teardrop.  Urana Hope eased approaching the home turn and collided with Teardrop and subsequently tailed off.

Urana Hope underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no injury was reported.

Stewards spoke to Mr F. Bickerton, the trainer of Urana Hope regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Urana Hope was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Bickerton pleaded guilty to the charge, Urana Hope is suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Especial Elise was quick to begin.  

Thursday Thunder crossed in soon after the start checking Gotham Duchess and Coalville Crash.  Aston Cabernet, Midnight Breeze, Toy Fair and I'm Fuller collided on the first turn checking Aston Cabernet and Toy Fair, Gotham Duchess and Coalville Crash were checked as a result.  Coalville Crash and Especial Elise collided on the first turn checking Especial Elise which stumbled.  Thursday Thunder raced wide approaching the home turn.  Midnight Breeze and I'm Fuller collided approaching the home turn.  Gotham Duchess and Toy Fair collided approaching the home turn.  Midnight Breeze and I'm Fuller collided on the home turn.  Midnight Breeze checked off I'm Fuller entering the home straight and collided with Gotham Duchess.

Dr. Cassia stumbled on the first turn and collided with Cute Patootie, causing Dr. Cassia to race wide and lose ground.  Velocity Caprice and Dewana Degoey collided on the first turn.

Dr. Cassia underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Stewards conducted a check of catcher’s licences in accordance with LR 16.2 and all were compliant.

Stewards spoke with Mr Jason Nibbs via telephone regarding the circumstances pertaining to the scratching of his greyhound River Crossing in this event. Mr Nibbs stated that River Crossing had torn his left monkey muscle while being slipped at the Darnum straight track on Monday 23 September 2019 and would not be fit to take his place tonight. Stewards requested that Mr Nibbs present River Crossing to be examined by the on-course veterinarian at tonight's meeting, pursuant to GAR 23(3). River Crossing subsequently underwent a veterinary examination at the end of kennelling where it was confirmed that the greyhound had sustained a left monkey muscle injury. Stewards were satisfied that the greyhound had been withdrawn correctly and no further action was taken.

Street Artist and Pookie Smurf collided on the first turn checking Street Artist.  Cristalle Blue and Southern Edge collided on the first turn.  Brand New, Shrek's Rusty and Cristalle Blue collided on the first turn checking Cristalle Blue.  Cristalle Blue checked off Brand New on the first turn.  Cristalle Blue and Southern Edge collided on the home turn.
