Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Saint Jett and Crown Ella were quick to begin. 

Manila King went up with the lids at boxrise and lost ground. Blue Crayon and Cawbourne Archy collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.

The start of this race was hand started. 

Volvo Soccer Mum was quick to begin. Hostile Raven was slow to begin.

Mepunga Apollo checked off Volvo Soccer Mum approaching the first turn, also checking Molly Tiara and Alsace. Skibo Rebel galloped on Volvo Soccer Mum on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Hostile Raven checked off Alsace on the first turn. Super Remi raced wide on the home turn.

Winslow Lodge was slow to begin.

Lewis Osti and Cawbourne Mimma collided soon after the start checking Lewis Osti. Harsh Jude galloped on Lewis Osti approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Only Sometimes hit the running rail on the first turn and lost ground also checking Lewis Osti, Merriview Jolt and Winslow Lodge. Chase A Star and Merriview Jolt collided on the first turn checking Merriview Jolt. Harsh Jude galloped on Merriview Jolt on the home turn severely checking both greyhounds also checking Only Sometimes and Lewis Osti.

Only Sometimes underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

A post-race sample was taken from Cawbourne Mimma - the winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Grenfell, the kennel representative of Vanna Bale via telephone regarding the number of starts the greyhound has undertaken in recent weeks (being 8 starts in 28 days). Mr. Grenfell stated that Vanna Bale has had 4 days since her last run at The Meadows, is worked only lightly between runs, is checked daily for any injuries, is well within herself, has been competitive in recent starts and has not displayed any signs of fatigue. Stewards noted Mr. Grenfell's comments.

Vanna Bale, Bad Boy Barry, Rampant Teresa and Molly Byrnes collided on the first turn checking Bad Boy Barry, Go Bezza checked off Bad Boy Barry on the first turn. and severely checking Follow The Que. Annie My Mate checked off Crackerjack Nash approaching the home turn. Crackerjack Nath and Vanna Bale collided in the home straight.

Crackerjack Nash underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg back muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Thomeli Boy and Aston Moscato collided approaching the first turn checking Thomeli Boy. Thomeli checked off Aston Moscato on the first turn. Burning Eddy and Aston Moscato collided on the first turn checking Aston Moscato. Rampant Doc checked off Artpop on the first turn. Aston Moscato checked off Rampant Doc on the home turn.

A post-race sample was taken from Loco Luna - the winner of the event.

Rampant Doc underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Mr. R. Mahony, the trainer of Rampant Doc, stated that it was his intention to retire the greyhound from racing. 

Lil Snooze was slow to begin.

Gunmetal Liam and Tinker Craig collided soon after the start checking Gunmetal Liam. Tinker Craig checked off Lava You Beauty approaching the first turn. Outlaw Donny, Lava You Beauty and Piriformis collided on the first turn checking Outlaw Donny, Lava You Beauty, Piriformis and Gunmetal Liam. Lava You Beauty and Piriformis collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.

Ernesto Bale was slow to begin.

Padrino Rocks, Aston Pirate and Invictus Caleb collided approaching the first turn checking all three greyhounds. Smarty Pants checked off Noonbarra Jack on the first turn. Padrino Rocks and Ernesto Bale collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Noonbarra Jack and Tiggerlong Al collided approaching the home turn. Smarty Pants checked off Tiggerlong Al on the home turn. Invictus Caleb checked off Smarty Pants in the home straight.

A post-race sample was taken from Summer Lights - 2nd in the event.

Little Mug, Joker's Mate and Tinker cher collided on the first turn checking Joker's Mate and Tinker Cher. Ikora Bale checked off Cayden Bale in the home straight also checking Little Mug.

Kraken Jack – Late scratching at 9.45 am when Ms. N. Lund reported the greyhound to have an injury to it's fibula (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Hadeel Bale checked off Artic Assassin on the first turn. Winlock Buttons contacted the running rail approaching the home turn and lost ground also checking Hadeel Bale. Winlock Buttons and Hadeel Bale collided on the home turn checking Winlock Buttons.

Winlock Buttons underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

A post-race sample was taken from Montaya - 2nd in the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Franklin, the trainer of Montaya after there was significant movement on fixed odds betting for the greyhound ($26 into $9.50) in tonight's event. Mr. Franklin stated that Montaya normally races well when resuming from a break and was confident of a forward showing tonight. Mr. Franklin added that he did not support the greyhound in any form. Stewards noted his comments.

Gypsy Hook, I'm Fuller and Glascoe Sally collided soon after the start checking I'm Fuller. Spritely Star checked off Text Me Later approaching the first turn. Ima Maldini checked off Narcelle on the first turn and collided with Lena Lake checking Lena Lake. Ima Maldini raced wide on the home turn.

Shifter Magic shifted in approaching the first turn checking Harrell Bale, Ocean Star and Northern Zone. Northern Zone and Magic Jet collided on the first turn checking Northern Zone. Shifter Magic and Magic Jet collided approaching the home turn checking Shifter Magic. Magic Jet galloped on United Lass approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds, Northern Zone raced wide as a result.
