Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Still Single.
Crackerjack Tys was slow to begin.
Aston Eureka and Pyrenees Daisy collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn. Still Single checked off Chilling Story on the first turn and collided with Cool Rage. Chilling Story checked off Consider It Done approaching the home turn checking Still Single. Aston Eureka and Pyrenees Daisy collided approaching the home turn.
Aston Eureka underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race seven, no apparent injury could be detected.
Stewards spoke to the trainer of Aston Eureka, Mr R Brittain, regarding the greyhound's performance in the event. Mr Brittain stated that he is of the belief the greyhound is not suited to drawing inside boxes, and usually looks to race wide. He did believe the greyhound would have put in a stronger effort during the race, however the inside box, and the collisions with Pyrenees Daisy during the event contributed to the below expectation performance. In accordance with GAR 75(2), stewards requested Mr Brittain contact the stewards department in the coming days if any injury or matter arises that may have affected Aston Eureka's performance in this event.
