Octo Flash, Lulumon and Golden Sunrise were slow to begin.
Cloona Reward, Zipping Cisco, Nimble Rebel and Spooky Exit collided soon after the start, checking Cloona Reward and Zipping Cisco. Cloona Reward galloped on Nimble Rebel approaching the first turn, checking Cloona Reward and severely checking Nimble Rebel. Octo Flash and Cloona Reward collided on the first turn, checking Cloona Reward. Golden Sunrise turned its head inwards in the home straight.
Nimble Rebel underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained injuries to the right thigh muscle and left pencil muscle, a 14 day standdown period was imposed.
Spooky Exit underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained injuries to the left monkey muscle and right hamstring, a 7 day standdown period was imposed.
Golden Sunrise underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the right hind. No standdown period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Glenn Petrie, regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Golden Sunrise was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Petrie pleaded guilty to the charge, Golden Sunrise must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
