Steward's Report
Club Manager, Craig Monigatti advised that the track was top dressed and graded on 11th March 2019.
Inga Lina was quick to begin. Smooth Roster and Gentleman Jock were slow to begin.
Inga Assalt and Sandulad collided soon after the start checking Inga Assalt. Smooth Roster and Gentleman Jock collided on the first turn checking Smooth Roster. Inga Lina, Sandulad and Lana's Image collided approaching the home turn severely checking Lana's Image which tailed off as a result. Gentleman Jock turned its head outward on the home turn, checking Inga Assalt. Inga Lina checked off Sanulad entering the home straight. Inga Lina and Cairnlea Abby collided entering the home straight checking Inga Lina.
A post-race sample was taken from Saint Destructor - the winner of the event.
Lana's Image underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the scapula and both sartorius muscles. A 21 stand down period was imposed.
Gentleman Jock underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have scapula soreness, a 21 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. B Bunworth, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Gentleman Jock was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Bunworth pleaded guilty to the charge, Gentleman Jock must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
