Steward's Report

Spolly Smasher was a late scratching at 6.04pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to dehydration. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Marcus Rose was quick to begin. Blue Glitter was slow to begin.

Titanium Springs and Itching To Go collided soon after the start. Blue Glitter, Titanium Springs and Itching To Go collided soon after the start. Vampire Vixen and Bets And Beers collided soon after the start. Marcus Rose, Vampire Vixen and Bets And Beers collided approaching the first turn. Bets And Beers and Blue Glitter collided approaching the first turn, checking Bets And Beers. Rothwell Gal crossed to the running rail on the first turn, checking Marcus Rose. Vampire Vixen raced wide on the home turn. Marcus Rose marred Vampire Vixen entering the home straight. Marcus Rose raced wide in the home straight.

Marcus Rose was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn left hind toenail, a 5-day standdown period was applied.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Moloney, the trainer of the greyhound Marcus Rose, regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Marcus Rose with marring. Mr. Moloney pleaded not guilty to the charge, Marcus Rose was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
