This race meeting was deemed hot weather affected.

When Stewards arrived on course the outside temperature was 42.2 degrees - the kennel temperature was 21.4 degrees.

At the end of kennelling the outside temperature was 22.9 degrees - the kennel temperature was 20.2 degrees.

Prior to Race 1 the heat affected policy was lifted due to the decrease in temperature.

Dark Stealth and Up And About were slow to begin.  Gotta Like That and Sheza Looker collided approaching the first turn checking Sheza Looker.  Annabelle Lee and Stealthy Flight collided approaching the first turn checking Stealthy Flight.  Gotta Like That and Stealthy Flight collided on the first turn severely checking Stealthy Flight.  Sheza Looker and Minter Bee Star collided on the home turn severely checking both greyhounds causing Minter Bee Star to stumble.  Gotta Like That and Sheza Looker collided several times in the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Bye the handler of Dark Stealth and issued him with a severe reprimand regarding his tardiness boxing the greyhound Pursuant to GAR 51(9). 

A pre-race sample was taken from Sight To See.

Blistering Betty was quick to begin.  Split Pea, Zipping Benny and Dyna Kara were slow to begin.  Zipping Benny galloped on Sight To See approaching the home turn causing Sight To See to lose considerable ground.

Sight To See was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hind foot, no stand down period was imposed.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Crossfire Icon and no illness was detected.  The greyhound was a late scratching at 6.01pm due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer Mr. P. McKenzie was fined the sum of $100.

Modern Jagger and Jonathan's Rose were slow to begin.  Extreme Summer and Zipping Dion collided approaching the first turn checking Extreme Summer.  Inter Joe was checked off Extreme Summer on the first turn.  Jonathan's Rose was checked off Modern Jagger on the first turn.  Zipping Dion and Knock The Clock collided in the home straight.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Goldrush Rose and no illness was detected.  The greyhound was a late scratching at 7.01pm due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer Mrs. S. Chignell was fined the sum of $100.

Tuiaki Dora and Spolly James were quick to begin.  Princess Spolly was checked off Zipping Amy on the first turn causing Princess Spolly to race wide.

Dyna Hunter, Elevated and Cosmic Chieftain were quick to begin.  Harvey Warbanger was checked off Sanjiro on the home turn.  Harvey Warbanger and Sanjiro collided in the home straight.
