Stewards spoke to Representative, Mrs S. Thompson regarding the direction that the greyhound, Sharp Diamond be boxed first.  Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.

This event was delayed by 5 mins after the boxes failed to open.  The greyhounds were removed from boxes, vetted and passed fit to race by GRV Veterinary Surgeon.  The race was subsequently hand started.

Liebig Street and Zipping Galon collided soon after the start checking Liebig Street.  Sharp Diamond checked off Barcali soon after the start.  Shae's Intention and Liebig Street collided approaching the first turn.  Sharp Diamond and Dutch Legacy collided on the third turn.  Dutch Legacy checked off Sharp Diamond approaching the home turn.  Zipping Galon and Liebig Street collided on the home turn.  Shae's Intention and Zipping Floyd collided on the home turn checking Zipping Galon.

Stewards spoke to Ms S.Fisher, the trainer of Dyna Hendry regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Dyna Hendry last raced on 31 March, 2018. Ms Fisher stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a change of kennel.

This race was delayed by approximately 1 minute to allow for the removal of the handicap boxes from the previous event.

Darren Allen was quick to begin.  Star Hunter was slow to begin.  Charlie Rocket and Venus Allen collided soon after the start.  Cruisy's Empress, Venus Allen and Arnie Allen collided approaching the first turn checking Cruisy's Empress.  Darren Allen and Dyna Hendry collided on the first turn checking Dyna Hendry.  Venus Allen and Arnie Allen collided on the second turn checking Venus Allen.  Darren Allen and Dyna Hendry collided on the third turn.  Charlie Rocket and Kiarni Tiger collided on the home turn and several times in the home straight.

Cruisy's Empress was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right back muscle, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Acting on a telephone call from trainer Mr D.Cortese, Spazzy Blue was a late scratching at 6.28pm due to illness. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
