Steward's Report
Zipping Dodge, Dyna Artist and Barcia Houdini were slow to begin.
Another Bling and Happy Tails collided soon after the start. Barcia Houdini, Another Bling and Happy Tails collided on the first turn checking Another Bling. Zipping Dodge and Blue Fabianna collided on the first turn checking Blue Fabianna. Barcia Houdini and Blue Fabianna collided in the front straight checking Blue Fabianna and Another Bling. Barcia Houdini faltered approaching the second turn and tailed off. Blue Fabianna visibly eased approaching the second turn and again approaching the third turn. Zipping Dodge checked off Kiss Me Nicki on the second turn. Dyna Garner and Kiss Me Nicki collided approaching the home turn. Zipping Dodge and Kiss Me Nicki collided entering the home straight.
Barcia Houdini underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Blue Fabianna underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hind webbing, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to the trainer Mr P. Akathiotis, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the second and again approaching the third turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Blue Fabianna was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Akathiotis pleaded guilty to the charge, Blue Fabianna must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race blood sample was taken from Dyna Garner - winner of the event.
