Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Stevie Dee upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
A pe-race sample was taken from Grace Ali.
Grace Ali was quick to begin. Faraday and Watching You were slow to begin. Zipping Amy and Out Break collided soon after the start. Watching You raced wide in the front straight. Stevie Dee and Say Hi collided approaching the first turn. Zipping Amy and Out Break collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Zipping Amy. Watching You eased on the first turn and pulled up as a result. Say Hi and Stevie Dee collided on the first turn and again approaching the second turn checking both greyhounds.
Watching You was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right calf muscle, left pencil and triangle muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms. D. Coleman, Representative of the greyhound, Watching You. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Watching You with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Coleman pleaded guilty to the charge, Watching You was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
