Got An Engine and Chucka Khan were quick to begin. Dodge Coupe and Kayla's Monaro were slow to begin.
Zavier's Monaro, Esther's Ruby and Deneholme Dasher collided approaching the first turn, checking Zavier's Monaro and Esther's Ruby. Got An Engine failed to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the first turn. Got An Engine and Chucka Khan collided on the first turn, checking Chucka Khan, Deneholme Dasher, Kayla's Monaro and Nimble Leo. Deneholme Dasher checked off the heels of Nimble Leo on the first turn. Dodge Coupe and Chucka Khan collided approaching the home turn. Nimble Leo checked off Kayla's Monaro entering the home straight. Chucka Khan and Dodge Coupe collided approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. George, the trainer of the greyhound Got An Engine regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the first turn. Got An Engine was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right groin, a 21 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Got An Engine with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. George pleaded guilty to the charge, Got An Engine was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
