Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Williamson the trainer of Parie Shiraz regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Parie Shiraz last raced on 28/05/18. Mr. Williamson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left back muscle injury. Mr. D. Williamson declared a new weight of 31.8kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Parie Shiraz last raced at 33.7kg.
A pre-race sample was taken from Lektra Damage.
Parie Shiraz was slow to begin. Dr. Watson, Gone Early, Destructo Rat and Cruella Deville collided soon after the start checking Dr. Watson and Destructo Rat. Dr. Watson, Gone Early and Cruella Deville collided on the first turn severely checking Dr. Watson. Gone Early and Destructo Rat collided several times in the back straight and on the second turn. Destructo Rat crossed out approaching the home turn checking Lektra Damage.
Destructo Rat was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound was found to have the thumps, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr. R. Floyd the trainer of the greyhound Destructo Rat regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.
