Dyna Hunter shifted in soon after the start, checking Mepunga Bella, Spectra Style, La Bella Riot and Dyna Hunter.  Tritt Tritt and La Bella Riot collided on the first turn.  Black Forge, Blue Hunter and Often Imitated collided on the first turn, checking Blue Hunter and causing Often Imitated to fall. La Bella Riot turned its head outwards on the first turn. Spectra Style checked off Mepunga Bella on the second turn.  La Bella Riot lost ground approaching the third turn. 

La Bella Riot was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg back muscle injury, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Often Imitated was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr Anthony Azzopardi, trainer of La Bella Riot, regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.  In assessing the incident, Stewards took into account that La Bella Riot turned its head as Often Imitated fell.  Stewards felt that this incident contributed directly to the actions of La Bella Riot and as such no further action was taken.  Mr Azzopardi advised Stewards the greyhound would now be retired.

Orson Allen shifted in soon after the start, checking Rixy Ya Pest.  Rixy Ya Pest checked off Dyna Alia soon after the start.  Dyna Alia, Extra Gear and Oh So Sleek collided on the first turn, checking Extra Gear, Oh So Sleek and Fernando Express.  Rixy Ya Pest and Dyna Alia collided on the second turn, checking Rixy Ya Pest.  Fernando Express checked off Oh So Sleek entering the back straight.  Extra Gear checked off Rixy Ya Pest on the third turn.  Rixy Ya Pest and Fernando Express collided approaching the home turn.

Rixy Ya Pest was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg calf muscle injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Vixstar was slow to begin.  Slingshot Whippa and Cavatron collided soon after the start, checking Slingshot Whippa.  Dyna Harpa, Hasten Slowly and Cavatron collided approaching the first turn, checking Dyna Harpa.  Dyna Harpa, Slingshot Whippa and Percy's Empire collided on the first turn, checking Dyna Harpa and Slingshot Whippa.  Why Not Peter checked off Mepunga Prue on the first turn.  Hasten Slowly and Cavatron collided on the first turn.

Raine Allen, Mepunga Zeus, Pyrenees Petraca, Feikuai Donna, Dyna Zesty and Uno Fabio collided soon after the start, checking Mepunga Zeus, Pyrenees Petraca, Dyna Zesty and Uno Fabio, and severely checking Feikuai Donna.  Mepunga Zeus, Dyna Zesty, Uno Fabio and Go Seek Heidi collided on the first turn, severely checking Mepunga Zeus, Uno Fabio and Go Seek Heidi.  Feikuai Donna galloped on Pyrenees Petraca on the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  Uno Fabio and Go Seek Heidi collided on the second turn and again in the back straight.

Due to a misunderstanding Uno Fabio, which performed below market expectations, was removed from course without a veterinary examination. Stewards accepted an undertaking from trainer A. Azzopardi that he would present Uno Fabio to be vetted at Ballarat on 16/7/18.  Uno Fabio was presented at Ballarat on Monday 16th July, 2018 and it was reported that there was no apparent injury detected.

Benali, Wharfies Girl and Khaleesi Girl collided soon after the start.  Dyna Oscar checked off Mepunga Molly on the first turn, checking Striking Weetbix.  Pheonix Fernando and Khaleesi Girl collided on the second turn.  Dyna Oscar and Mepunga Molly collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.
