Stewards spoke to Mr.P.Dedes, the trainer of Downing Street regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Downing Street last raced on 21 March 2018. Mr.Dedes stated that the greyhound was resuming from a tail injury.

Miss Heart was slow to begin.  All Revved Up crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Keisha's Boy.  All Revved Up and Mick McKenley soon after the start.  Superior Bont and Shelbourne Flyer collided at the 300m mark.  Kid Boomer and Mick McKenley collided several times from the 250m mark until the 200m mark.

Stewards spoke to Ms.J.Elliot, the representative of Meehan Dan regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Meehan Dan last raced on 9 February 2018. Ms.Elliot stated that the greyhound was resuming from a left triangle and right groin injury. Ms.Elliot also declared a new weight of 35.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Meehan Dan last raced at 33.9kg.

Meehan Dan, Got It Right and Perfect Project were slow to begin.  Got It Right and Zambora Andy collided soon after the start.  Perfect Project and Zambora Andy collided at the 300m mark.  Banjo Milne and Prince Mikado collided at the 100m mark.  Got It Right and She's Perfect collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards received a phone call at 9.38am from Mr.L. Karabitsakos, representative of Rockin' Rico.  Mr Karabitsakos advised Stewards that both himself and the trainer, Ms.V.Karabitsakos were unable to present Rockin' Rico to race.  As such, Rockin' Rico was a late scratching at 10.34am due to non arrival (GAR 31). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer V.Karabitsakos was fined the sum of $100.  Mr.Karabitsakos was informed that Stewards will consider lifting the penalties once receiving appropriate documentation.

White Diamond and Johnny's Return collided soon after the start.  White Diamond faltered at the 300m mark and subsequently tailed off as a result.  Tobias Kelton and Johnny's Return collided at the 250m mark and again at the 100m mark.  Jack's Pick and Unlocked collided several times from the 150m mark until the 50m mark.

White Diamond was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right wrist and left calf muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Bear's Legacy.

Speedy Ryder was quick to begin.  Speedy Ryder and Keep Talking collided soon after the start.  Speedy Ryder, French Defence and Bear's Legacy collided soon after the start.  Bear's Legacy, Arashundi and Tayla's Banjo collided soon after the start.  Speedy Ryder and Keep Talking collided at the 250m mark.  Sweet Strike checked off Keep Talking at the 200m mark.  Arashundi and Tayla's Banjo collided at the 200m mark.  Sweet Strike crossed to the rail at the 150m mark and collided with Arashundi and Tayla's Banjo, checking all three greyhounds.  Arashundi and Sweet Strike collided approaching the 100m mark, checking both greyhounds.

Dapper Diesel, Bullocky Bill and Knocka Feller were slow to begin.  Are You and Dapper Diesel collided soon after the start, checking Dapper Diesel.  Articus and Two Seasons collided approaching the winning post.

Big Deal was a late scratching at 12.16pm by Order Of Stewards due to the handler Mr.S.Brincat failing to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to prepare the greyhound for this event.

Cailah Rose, Zipping Boyd and Bottoms Up were slow to begin.  Bottoms Up and Hoo Gur Affair collided at the 250m mark and again at the 200m mark, checking Bottoms Up.  Hoo Gur Affair and Luca Flyer collided at the 50m mark.

A sample was taken from Avatar Minty - the winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Stephen Brincat, the representative of Big Deal, regarding his non-appearance at the kennels to prepare the greyhound for this event. Stewards subsequently charged Mr.Brincat with a breach of GAR 46(2), in that he failed to appear at the kennels within five minutes of the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Big Deal for this event.  In determining a penalty Stewards considered the guilty plea of Mr.Brincat and his previous history relating to similar incidents.  Mr.Brincat pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined the sum of $200.   

Good Odds Ava and Maximum Lara were slow to begin.  Jet Blaster, Autocrat and Bugs Boloney collided soon after the start, checking Autocrat and Bugs Boloney.  Bugs Boloney and Weeona Dino collided at the 300m mark.  Autocrat and Weeona Dino collided at the 200m mark.  Laximum Lara raced wide throughout the event.

Bugs Boloney was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abraded paw right front paw, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Enchanting Image and Sisso's Joy collided soon after the start.  Mallard crossed to the rail soon after the start.  Rhomboid and Striker Vardy collided soon after the start.  Tito Mojito and Mallard collided at the 200m mark. Rhomboid and Mallard collided several times from the 150m mark until the 100m mark.  Rhomboid checked off Mallard at the 100m mark.

Bourbon An Kahn and Aeroplane Bob were slow to begin.  Bourbon An Kahn and Blackjack's Back collided soon after the start.  Blackjack's Back checked off Invictus Rapid at the 250m mark.  Blackjack's Back and Aeroplane Bob collided at the 200m mark.  Tzar Knight and Blackjack's Back collided at the 150m mark.

Stewards spoke to Mr.J.Uglietta, the trainer of Lido's Boy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Lido's Boy last raced on 23 March 2018. Mr.Uglietta stated that the greyhound was resuming from a left back muscle injury.

A pre race sample was taken from Shakey Cougar.

Lido's Boy was slow to begin.  Shakey Cougar and Senni Richard collided soon after the start.  Lanis Morris and Miss Vane collided at the 250m mark.  Invented checked off Miss Vane at the 200m mark.  Superior Martini and Shakey Cougar collided at the 150m mark.

Mister Brown was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
