Apex Within, Galloping Flash and Fourth Dimention were slow to begin.

Apex Within checked off Little Freck soon after the start.  Galloping Flash, Fourth Dimention and Bowie Boy collided soon after the start checking Fourth Dimention.  Galloping Flash, Fourth Dimention and Bowie Boy collided approaching the first turn.  Apex Within and Galloping Flash collided approaching the home turn and again approaching the winning post.

Samples were taken from placegetters - Wilburn (1st) and Galloping Flash (2nd).

MEETING COMMENTS:

Track Curator Mr A. Inger advised stewards that the track was deeply harrowed on 6 March 2018.

A pre-race sample was taken from Jetyra Buckskin.

Dyna Cadet went up with the lids and was very slow to begin (3 lengths).

Bags Of Bucks and Drama Club collided soon after the start.  Soda Spike and Bags Of Bucks collided approaching the first turn checking Soda Spike.  Drama Club and Jetyra Buckskin collided on the first turn checking Jetyra Buckskin.  Bags Of Bucks and Dyna Cadet collided approaching the second turn checking Dyna Cadet.  Nostimo lost ground from the third turn.  

Soda Spike was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right thigh injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Nostimo was vetted and re-vetted following event 5.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hamstring injury, a 5 day stand dow period was imposed.

Enzo was quick to begin.  Bigtime Bruce, Queen Of Sprite and Our Karzon were slow to begin.

Bigtime Bruce checked off Our Echo Rose approaching the first turn.  Our Echo Rose, Top Shot Jack,Silvagni Cubed and Killara John collided on the first turn severely checking Silvagni Cubed, Killara John and Our Karzon, causing Silvagni Cubed and Killara John to stumble and Our Karzon to fall.  Queen Of Sprite and Bigtime Bruce collided on the home turn checking Top Shot Jack.

Our Karzon was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right radius/ulna fracture, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Brandeen Bayley.

Brandeen Bayley and Milla Rose were quick to begin.

Tree Climber Liv, Mallee Spring and Wild Angel collided in the back straight.  Tree Climber Liv and Mallee Spring collided approaching the second turn checking Mallee Spring.  Tree Climber Liv and Wild Angel collided on the home turn checking Wild Angel.  Mallee Spring checked off Wild Angel entering the back straight.

Run Rita Run and Machiko were quick to begin.

Two Dollar Pots and Blocka Boy collided soon after the start.  Slick Maggie and Machiko collided soon after the start checking Slick Maggie, Machiko, Two Dollar Pots and Blocka Boy.  Slick Maggie, Machiko and Two Dollar Pots collided on the first turn checking Machiko.  Dr. Kestrel cross out on the first turn checking Dr. Kestrel, Slick Maggie, Two Dollar Pots and Walk Woody Walk.  Dr. Kestrel and Walk Woody Walk collided on the third turn checking Dr. Kestrel.  My Alibi checked off Dr. Kestrel approaching the home turn.

Mizuki was quick to begin.

Vanishka and Hi Ho Geronimo collided soon after the start checking Vanishka, Hi Ho Geronimo and Hazelwood Flyer.  Vanishka, Hi Ho Geronimo and Hazelwood Flyer collided approaching the first turn checking Hi Ho Geronimo and Our Delta Rose.  Mizuki and Rose Rose collided several times from approaching the second turn to on the second turn checking Mizuki.  Mizuki checked off Rose Rose entering the back straight checking  Hazelwood Flyer and Ruby's Image.  Hi Ho Geronimo checked off Reatily Shintaro in the back straight  severely checking Our Delta Rose.  Vanishka and Rose Rose collided on the third turn checking Rose Rose.  

Rose Rose was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Jungle Jacqui was slow to begin.  Magic Maya was very slow to begin (3 lengths).

Joyous Jill and Jungle Jacqui collided on the first turn checking Joyous Jill and Magic Maya.  Jungle Jacqui checked off Ends Well on the second turn.  Urana Banjo eased and failed to pursue the lure approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr S. Mallia, the trainer of the greyhound Urana Banjo regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Urana Banjo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a injury to the right groin, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Urana Banjo with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Mallia pleaded guilty to the charge, Urana Banjo was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

At 4.12pm Stewards put this race and remaining races into a holding pattern as they had concerns with the state of the track. The Track Manager was given time to repair the surface, after a further inspection at 5:20pm Stewards were not satisfied that the track was safe for racing, the remaining races were subsequently abandoned at 5:25pm.
