Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Billy Moran.
Hot Devil and Avatar Sparkle were quick to begin. Hot Devil, Patchie Thief and Avatar Sparkle collided soon after the start, checking Hot Devil and severely checking Avatar Sparkle which fell. Topaz Warrior and Billy Moran collided approaching the home turn, checking Billy Moran. Sutre Sizzler raced wide entering the home straight.
Avatar Sparkle was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left foreleg wrist and thoraco-lumbar injuries, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Meeting Comments:
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Norman McCullagh, the trainer of Sea Mist, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Sea Mist last raced on 9 November 2017. Mr McCullagh stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an extended spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Sea Mist trialled over the 410m from box three, weight 29.8 kgs, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 23:83, the greyhound won by a margin of 9.75 lengths. Sea Mist was Cleared.
