Ballet Creek was slow to begin. Drysdale Creek was very slow to begin (5 Lengths). Kalani Hagen and Ranger Bay collided several times soon after the start. Kalani Hagen and Ranger Bay collided on the first turn, checking Kalani Hagen. Punt Road Girl checked off Three Toots entering the home straight. Punt Road Girl marred the running of Three Toots in the home straight. 

Punt Road Girl was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

A sample was taken from Golden Sunrise - the winner of the event. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Donlan, the handler of the greyhound Punt Road Girl regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Punt Road Girl with marring. Mr. Donlan pleaded guilty to the charge, Punt Road Girl was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool, and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mr. P. Keane, trainer of Cool Number, declared a new weight of 30.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Cool Number last raced at 29.1kg.

A pre race sample was taken from Destini Radar.

This race was delayed by 1.5 minutes while debris was cleared from the track. 

Crackerjack Tags and Destini Radar collided soon after the start. Hail A Cab, Crackerjack Tags and Destini Radar collided approaching the first turn. Hail A Cab, Crackerjack Tags and Destini Radar collided on the first turn, checking Crackerjack Tags and Destini Radar, both greyhounds raced wide as a result. Osti's Raider and St. Pauli collided approaching the home turn, checking St. Pauli and Hail A Cab. Osti's Raider and Cool Number collided approaching the home turn, checking Cool Number. 

Ben Roman and Cosmic Creek collided on the first turn, checking Cosmic Creek. Ben Roman checked off Lonesome Spring on the first turn. Cosmic Creek checked off Ben Roman approaching the home turn.

Cosmi Creek was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

Headspace and Osti's Sprite collided approaching the first turn, checking Osti's Sprite. Modern Value checked off Osti's Sprite on the first turn. Modern Value and My Mandara collided approaching the home turn, and again on the home turn.

Gothamburg, Crooked Vulture and Bomber Creek collided approaching the first turn, severely checking Crooked Vulture and Gothamburg, Gothamburg contacted the running rail and fell as a result. Bomber Creek checked off Crackerjack Daza approaching the home turn. Crooked Vulture checked off Bomber Creek on the home turn, checking Iris Allen, which raced wide. 

Gothamburg was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fracture to the left tibia, and was humanely euthanased.

A sample was taken from Cloona Magic - the winner of the event. 

Mr. David Gehan, trainer of Saint Ray, declared a new weight of 31.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Saint Ray last raced at 32.5kg.

Squirto and Sachi collided soon after the start. Saint Ray, Spring Saviour and Sachi collided approaching the first turn, checking Spring Saviour. Sachi, Saint Ray and In A Spin collided approaching the home turn.

Sure To Excite and Super Sook collided soon after the start. My Mate Wally checked off Lost Love on the first turn. Sure To Excite checked off Blackpool Chuck on the home turn. 

Immediately prior to this race, the padding was blown off the catching pen gate by the wind. After consulting with club officials, Stewards determined that it would be impractical to repair the gate with the continuing extreme wind speed (wind gust 104km/h). Races 9-12 inclusive were abandoned at 9.07pm.
