Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Carter, the trainer of Why Not Macca regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Why Not Macca last raced on 29th January, 2018. Mr. Carter stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a spell.
Macalister Tiger was quick to begin. Beanology was slow to begin. Potere, Why Not Macca and Okay Pumpkin collided soon after the start. Potere checked off Why Not Macca approaching the first turn. Ragadeen, Power Gem and Beanology collided on the first turn checking Ragadeen. Why Not Macca checked off Power Gem on the first turn. Power Gem checked off Okay Pumpkin on the first turn. Why Not Macca and Power Gem collided approaching the home turn checking Power Gem. Ragadeen and Beanology collided entering the home straight.
