Wise Ricciardo and Hasten Slowly were quick to begin. Reign Of Buddy was slow to begin.
Alta Linea and Bella's Ghost collided soon after the start. Bella's Ghost and Hugh Tenacity collided on the first turn. Wise Ricciardo checked off Hasten Slowly collided on the first turn checking Bella's Ghost. Charity Wish and Boomer Blitz collided on the first turn. Alta Linea and Reign Of Buddy collided on the first turn, both greyhounds raced wide as a result. Wise Ricciardo and High Tencity collided approaching the second turn. Wise Ricciardo and Bella's Ghost collided approaching the second turn. Charity Wish and Boomer Blitz collided approaching the second turn severely checking Boomer Blitz causing Charity Wish to fall.
