Smoke Or Fire, Iceni Outlaw, Carrara Lad, Proven May, College Queen and Collis Princess collided soon after the start checking Smoke Or Fire, Iceni Outlaw, Carrara Lad, Proven May and College Queen. Tubark crossed to the rail on the first turn. Iceni Outlaw checked off Carrara Lad on the first turn and again on the home turn. Smoke Or Fire and College Queen collided in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Ashton, trainer of Carrara Lad regarding his actions behind the boxes prior to the running of this event. Mr. Ashton stated that he was checking a betting slip from the previous event. Stewards noted his explanation and advised him not to act in a manner that can be subject for question.
