Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Dailly, the kennel representative of Allen Gable regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Allen Gable last raced on 23rd March, 2017.  Mr. Dailly stated that Allen Gable is returning to racing from an extended spell.  Mr. Dailly also declared a new weight of 33.6 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Allen Gable last raced at 31.9 kgs.

The start of this race was delayed by approximately 3 minutes due to a malfunction with the 390m boxes.  The race was hand started.

Heartbreak Hotel and Quedos were slow to begin.  Rube's Ablaze, Soda Anne, Bank Rogue and Quedos collided on the first turn, checking Rube's Ablaze, Heartbreak Hotel and Quedos and severely checking Soda Anne which fell as a result.  Heartbreak Hotel checked off Rube's Ablaze approaching the home turn.  Heartbreak Hotel raced wide in the home straight.

Soda Anne was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right radius fracture, and was humanely euthanased.

This race was declared a no race following a malfunction with  the boxes which resulted in a delay in the lids opening.

This race was hand started.

Seabrook Gem and Mousey McCoy collided soon after the start, checking Mousey McCoy.  Magic Reindeer checked off Mousey McCoy on the home turn.  Magic Reindeer and Mousey McCoy collided in the home straight. Mousey McCoy appeared to cramp approaching the winning post.
