Simone's Magic was a late scratching at 5:16pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Ms. V. Watson was fined the sum of $100.
Drysdale Creek was quick to begin. Witch In Motion, Cloona Lass and Star Cluster collided soon after the start, checking Star Cluster. Rugged, Witch In Motion and Star Cluster collided approaching the first turn, checking Witch In Motion. Cerrone Bale checked off Lush Life on the first turn. Rugged and Cloona Lass collided on the first turn, checking Cloona Lass. Drysdale Creek shifted out and lost ground on the first turn. Witch In Motion checked off Cerrone Bale approaching the home turn. Cerrone Bale marred the running of Lush Life on the home turn, severely checking both greyhounds.
Lush Life was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Coulson, the representative of the greyhound Cerrone Bale regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Cerrone Bale with marring. Mr. Coulson pleaded guilty to the charge, Cerrone Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
